Sudakov: Performing at the Olympics is a great responsibility

Midfielder Georgiy Sudakov highlighted in an interview with BBC Sport the importance of his participation for the Ukrainian national team. He expressed pride in representing his country at the upcoming Olympic Games as part of the youth team and emphasized the significance of the qualification achieved through both his and the team’s efforts. He also explained why it was important for him to play for the main Ukrainian team in the Euro 2024 qualifying play-offs. According to Sudakov, every match for the national team is an opportunity to represent fellow citizens, especially in challenging times for the country. He stressed that players feel responsibility and pride in being able to bring joy to those who support them.

To reach Euro 2024, the Ukrainian team needs to navigate through two play-off rounds. First, they must defeat Bosnia and Herzegovina on March 21st, and if successful, they will face the winner of the Israel-Iceland pair five days later.
